Caundle Marsh Parish Eucharist, Sunday 19 May, 11am. All are welcome at this special service taken by the Rev. Canon Anthony Hulbert whose great grandfather and grandfather (later Bishop of Salisbury, 1936-1947) were both rectors of Bishops Caundle. The service will use the Book of Common Prayer. Those attending are invited afterwards to refreshments at Owl’s Barn, The Glebe, adjoining the church. Parking is available at The Glebe.

Benefice Perambulation: Late May Bank Holiday Weekend. A walk around all the parish churches of the benefice. Friday: B. Abbas to Thornford, Saturday: Thornford to Leigh, Sunday: Folke to Gl. Wootton, Monday: Holnest to Hilfield Friary. Accommodation and meals are on offer along the way, plus other support. Walk as much or as little as you like. Men’s Breakfast, Folke Golf Club, Saturday 1 June, 8 for 8.30am. Tea/coffee from 8 then breakfast at 8.30. This is a ‘hot potato’ session when a panel will attempt to answer various difficult moral and ethical questions that we face today. Saturday 1 June, 2pm: Thornford Village Fete. St Michael’s church in Beer Hackett will be hosting the fun dog show, with Sarah Easterbrook of The Pet Experience kindly acting as judge. Do come along with your dog and win a prize. There will also be a quality bric a brac stall. All in aid of church funds.

Tuesday 7 May, 7 for 7.30pm. Canon Ian Woodward is coming to speak about his involvement in "Salisbury - Sudan's Partnership Link" and he will give details of the involvement of the Mothers' Union in Sudan and South Sudan.  He will also mention how Mary Sumner House, Winchester works with the Link too which means that any financial aid goes directly to the problems in the Sudan with no 'middle man' involved. Everyone is most welcome.

St Peter’s Church, Chetnole: new village service on Sunday 7 April, 11am. This new venture will begin with a special charity service supporting the Afghan Connection. To tell us more about the charity Richard Charrington, who served in Afghanistan, will be giving a short illustrated talk during our service. All being well we may get to hear of the last cricket match he played in – in Kabul in 2010. Followed by the APCM at midday. Coffee and cakes will be provided after the service and before the meeting. (We are delighted that the Wriggle Valley Cricket Club is hosting a charity cricket match on 23rd June in Chetnole to raise money for Afghan Connection and will be playing a side largely made up of ex-servicemen.)
